Simply put, AllertonFox Construction is responsive to time constraints, surprise inspections, and quick turnarounds. When we discover a construction problem, we provide our clients with potential solutions and decision-making pricing.
At AllertonFox Construction we believe Construction Management (CM) can be the best approach for specific circumstances. For instance, if an owner feels strongly that they may have project changes that would result in costly time delays and increased construction costs, or if the architectural drawings may have various changes leading to expensive change orders, then in those such instances construction management would be preferable. A CM approach allows us to have an “open book” relationship with the client showing actual costs and mark- ups. This approach only works if both parties are entirely honest and open with one another.
The simple question is who wants to take the risk to guarantee pricing? In a General Contractor (GC) relationship, the GC has all the risk thus the potential for a double or higher mark up fee. In a CM relationship with no risk, a CM can charge half the fee. In both relationships, the estimating, field team, and Project Manager remain the same. We call the CM approach our “Rent a Team”.
Construction management facilitates the start of the project and allows it to begin much sooner. Trades such as demolition, sitework, and subsurface construction may proceed without delay while the team completes the drawings and specifications for the rest of the project. This approach saves time and money.
In addition to these benefits, AllertonFox Construction offers several added services as a construction manager. We feel one of the most important issues is to control the project academically with a solid contract with the trade contractors thus controlling the schedule, change orders, litigation and more.
With years of construction experience, we have developed valuable pre-construction concepts that can save you both time and money. Our value savings services can be applied at any stage of the drawing process. This allows us to share cost-savings ideas with the project team.
The most effective savings is derived by reviewing the project at the early stages with the owner/architect either before or during schematic drawings. Value saving suggestions can be implemented at any stage before the completion of the architectural drawings, thus avoiding unnecessary and costly drawing revisions, which in turn, saves on the subcontractors pricing, etc.
Our confidence in our “value savings” services is reflected in our unusual approach even if we are not chosen as the GC or CM on your project. We charge no fee but simply split any accepted savings 50/50 with the owner. If the owner chooses not to take any of our “value savings” suggestions, there is no charge for our time and effort. Our services are not geographically specific and can be performed almost anywhere.

I’ve been utilizing AFC in both a CM & GC rolls for many years. Jamie is one of the best construction professionals I’ve ever worked with. Jamie and his Team take to lead with everything from pre-construction services to securing DOH approval & COs.
Working in health care is difficult at best. Jamie and his team understand the importance of getting all of the key players ( Nursing, safety, infection prevention, facilities, EVS, etc) involved with each project. I have known and worked with Terry Allerton since the late 1980s. We were both involved in an office and industrial project where I was the architect and he was the contractor. I leased an existing vacant 35,000 sq. ft. gym facility in Manhattan. I hired AllertonFox to assist with pre-construction services and project planning and then hired them knowing they could deal with the difficulties we were sure to encounter with the existing mechanical and design challenges.
