AllertonFox partnered with dozens of trades to complete a major overhaul of the Terminal 8 retail lobby at JFK Airport, including the construction of a new Currency Exchange store within an active, post‑security environment. The project required precise coordination, detailed logistics planning, and strict adherence to airport security and operational protocols.
The scope of work included the installation of a new mechanical system, custom LED lighting throughout the space, illuminated custom signage, large‑format Corian slab installations, and premium imported stone finishes. These elements combined to create a modern, high‑end retail environment that enhances both passenger flow and the overall customer experience within the terminal.
Our team holds active SIDA badging, allowing us to perform work efficiently beyond airport security checkpoints while maintaining a safe and secure operational area. This capability was critical to executing the project seamlessly within one of the busiest airport terminals in the country.
Today, the Terminal 8 retail hall remains fully operational, and the Currency Exchange store is thriving within a polished, functional, and visually striking environment that meets the demands of high‑traffic airport retail.
