Brian began his career in construction at SUNY Delhi, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management.  During his time in college, he spent one semester and a summer interning for a general contractor who was building a minor league baseball stadium which tied his passion for baseball & construction management. After graduating, he accepted a full-time position there which launched him into his professional career.

Prior to starting, he moved back to the Hudson Valley, envisioning a local commute to the office and regional projects similar to his internship, but leadership had different plans. He was assigned to be part of the NYC team, accompanied by a move, where he’s exclusively worked on various commercial construction projects since.

Notable Projects Brian has managed include:

R2NET Inc. Headquarters
Vera Wang NY Headquarters
WeWork @ 75 Rock

Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time with his family, cheering on the NY Mets, fishing for striped bass, boating, skiing and golf.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received, and how has it helped you in your career?

“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.” Theodore Roosevelt.   In construction, from onsite coordination to long lead planning, there are many situations where decision making is a critical part of the job and not making one is proven to be worse than making the wrong one.

What’s your favorite part of a construction project and why?

Finding out you’re the winning bidder for a project. Building each job has systematic processes that are tuned and repeated each time for success but the feeling of winning is never a disappointment.

Do you have a favorite project you’ve ever participated in and why?

R2NET’s Headquarters. Having an established history with R2NET from providing several office expansions at their previous location to being the preferred contractor for their midtown relocation nearly tripling their floor plan while combining the front office, inventory & manufacturing department to one central location.

If you could build anything, with no budget or constraints, what would you build and why?

I’d build a new mass transit system for the NY metropolitan area that would allow for travel between outer-borough destinations, neighborhoods & states to be possible without going through midtown for transfers reducing time of travel between locations not located Manhattan.
