Hugo attended New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.  During his Sophomore year ,Hugo was an assistant Superintendent working part-time on various Anheuser Busch projects a few minutes from school.  The following year he held a near full-time position at a General Contracting firm where he was the lead Project Manager while attending NJIT.  This extended overlap in education and career allowed him a unique opportunity to learn both in the classroom and in the field.

After graduating Hugo continued career as a Project Manager completing several new buildings in New Jersey.  In 2011 he moved and started a new journey with Holt Construction in NYC before joining Allertonfox Construction in 2015.  During that time he worked on various commercial construction projects in New York City and all major airports in the NY Metro area.  Most recently he has worked on several Medical and Food & Beverage projects.

Hugo’s engineering background and wide ranging experience as a project manager allows him to help clients with effective solutions both in pre-construction and during construction.  His experience is unmatched having worked on out of the ground projects in NYC, Medical, Food & Beverage, Commercial interiors, Airport, Lounges, and more.

Notable Projects Hugo has managed include:

54 MacDougal Street
Virgin Atlantic Lounge – JFK
60 Broad Street Sidewalk Vaults

In his personal life, family comes first but cycling comes in a close second.  Hugo races his bike on weekends with a local team and rides over 8,000 miles per year.  Powerlifting, Golf, Flag Football, and Basketball are some other hobbies but you can call on him to compete in just about anything. He tries to lead by example to show his 10-year-old daughter that consistency and drive get results.

What’s your favorite part of a construction project and why?

The satisfaction and sense of fulfillment that comes with solving problems with creative or unique solutions.

Do you have a favorite project you’ve ever been a part of and why?

Virgin Atlantic Lounge – JFK.  This was a truly spectacular lounge when we finished but was also the project where I met Jamie Fox and started a lifelong friendship which changed my life.

If you could build anything, with no budget or constraints, what would you build and why?

I would be lying if I didn’t say my dream home on the California hills.
